SENIOR YEAR SEPTEMBER CHECKLIST CHECK OFF EACH ITEM WHEN COMPLETED

Make an appointment SOON with your college counselor

Update "colleges I'm considering"

Talk to your college counselor about:
 
  • Any Early Decision/Action/Notification applications
  • Any State universities (such as U. California, Wisconsin, Michigan)
  • Any rolling admission applications
  • Any US Service Academies
  • Any special scholarship programs you’re applying for

Tell your college counselor how you're doing with your essay
   
____
Ask (in person) two teachers to write letters of recommendation for you
   
____
Be sure you have completed & submitted the necessary registration forms for
 
  • SAT Reasoning Test/SAT Subject Tests (October & November)
  • ACT (October or December)
  • TOEFL (if applicable)

Review and revise (or begin!) the Common Application

Make sure you have an application and supplement (if required) for each of your colleges

Athletes: Have you registered with the NCAA Clearinghouse?
Artists: Are you working on a portfolio?
